Hey Wisconsin! How's that Walker thingy workin' out for ya?

hate to say we told you so, but....

-clip-
“Now is the time for leaders in Illinois and across the nation to take on these tough choices,” Walker wrote in an opinion column in the Chicago Tribune last summer after that state’s Legislature voted to raise taxes.
Still, despite new highway signs touting Wisconsin as “Open for Business” the state has continued to sputter. It ranked 42nd in overall job creation for the one-year period ending June 2012, according to the federal Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), a statistically accurate survey of 96 percent of state employers.

And while jobs are fleeing Wisconsin, Walker is keeping the criminal justice operation in Wisconsin humming:
•Walker's campaign website manager Brian Pierick was sentenced Thursday to community service and a $2,100 fine for the misdemeanor of sexting a 17-year-old boy.

•Walker's deputy chief of staff, Tim Russell, was sentenced in January to two years in prison for stealing from a charity meant for military combat veterans and their families.

•Walker's constituent services coordinator Darlene Wink took a plea deal in which she was given probation for two misdemeanors for planning campaigning fundraisers, including one with Sarah Palin, on the taxpayer dime.

•Walker's Veterans Services Commissioner Kevin Kavanaugh was convicted in December of stealing $51,000 from a charity for military combat veterans. He was sentenced to two years in prison.

•Walker's deputy chief of staff Kelly Rindfleisch took a plea deal and was sentenced in November to six months in prison and probation for doing political fundraising at her county job.

•Walker's campaign contributor William Gardner was convicted on two felony counts for the largest campaign finance violation in state history. He laundered more than $43,000 to Walker's campaign. He was fined and sentenced to two years of probation.

Job Creation Under President Obama

459,000 manufacturing jobs have been added since January 2010

Mitt Romney wants to re-institute the George W. Bush economic policies that produced the worst job creation numbers since Herbert Hoover, & the second deepest economic downturn since the Republican gifted Great Depression.

ARE WE BETTER OFF THAN 4 YEARS AGO?

7949 DOW close on Bush's last day in office
13,557 yesterday (Biggest 3.5 year gain -EVER-)
-800,000 jobs per month Bush's last month in office

For the 12 months between March 2011 and March 2012, the economy added 2.4 million jobs, or an average of 200,000 per month. (The greatest turnaround -EVER-)

-64%, my 401K under 8 years of Bush
+426%, my 401k under 3.5 years of President Obama
(Biggest turnaround in my 401K -EVER-)

Are we better off than 4 years ago. You betcha!

President Obama's Record Of Private Sector Job Creation Is 157,143 Per Month Since 4/2010, - better than any Republican President’s 1st Term Record -

Since President Obama's economic policies ended the George W. Bush gifted Great Recession, halted staggering monthly job losses that approached 800,000, and returned the nation to positive job growth in record time he has enjoyed a private sector job creation rate that exceeds the 1st term job creation record of ANY Republican President in history.

Below is a table which shows job creation by President for ALL terms served. Reagan's record in his first term in office was 109,000 per month. Reagan inherited stellar job creation from President Carter of 216,000 and by the end of his 1st term, cut it in nearly in half. President Obama inherited the deepest drop in job loss since the Great Depression and has since April of 2010 outperformed every Republican president 1st term record on job creation.

When examining the record of job creation we must look where President Obama started out to fully understand how far he has taken us as a nation down the road to recovery.

Job Performance, Obama Versus Bush, -a microcosm of the last 80 years-

The above graph provides yet more documentation of the 80 year history of comparison of Democratic and Republican administrations on job growth. The red line documents private sector employment, the blue line government sector employment.

Under George W. Bush private sector employment DECREASED by 6oo,ooo jobs.
Under President Obama private sector employment INCREASED by  300,000 jobs.
Under George W. Bush government sector employment INCREASED by 1,700,000 jobs.
Under President Obama government sector employment DECREASED by 600,000 jobs.

While Republicans run on empty promises of smaller government and their imaginary ability to manage the economy their record always points in the opposite direction, big spending, pitiful job creation and massive deficit spending.

42 Million Jobs Created Versus 24 million, Yet Another Democratic Economic Success Story

And remember in November, Willard Romney wants to re-institute the George W. Bush economic policies that produced the worst job creation numbers since Herbert Hoover, the second deepest economic downturn since the Republican gifted Great Depression and the worst accumulation of national debt since Ronald Reagan.

Romney is doubling down on the most disastrous economic policy in 70 years. That seems like a bad idea to me.

Following is a link to an excellent video that lays bare the dismal failure of Romney's economic record as Governor of Massachusetts.  http://www.barackobama.com/romney/economics/
-Pay special attention to the outsourcing of call center jobs to India-

Romney is just another corporate huckster trying to con the American public. See how he and Bain Capitol looted the health care and pension plans of this steel mill and laid off hundreds of American workers while they pocketed millions of dollars in bonus' and profits: http://www.buzzfeed.com/zekejmiller/obama-super-pac-steps-up-bain-capital-attack
“This was a booming place, and Mitt Romney and Bain Capital turned it into a junkyard....”

Trickle Down Has Never Worked. Not Once.

It added $9.2 trillion to the national debt.
see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/national-debt.html

It's produced less than 1/2 the job growth of Democratic Bubble Up Economic Principle. see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/job-growth.html

It's been in place for 4 of the last 4 recessions including 2 of the 3 greatest economic downturns in our nation's history.
 see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/history-of-recessions.html

It's produced the greatest income inequality in history. see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/income-inequality-99-versus-1.html

Romney is doubling down on the very economic principles that have all but killed the middle class and swelled the ranks of the poor. We should remember the record of the principles he champions.

President Obama versus George W. Bush on Job Creation, (1st term)

This graph again documents the typical historical record of comparing Republican Economic results against Democratic economic results. Republicans overspend and under perform. As I've stated repeatedly before only two things grow when Republican economic principles are in place, namely unemployment and the national debt.  A snapshot look at this comparison shows:
1).  public sector (government) employment increased under Bush by just over 4%, and has declined under President Obama by approx. 3%.
2). Private sector employment under Bush declined by approx. 1% over 4 years. Yet in just 2.5 years since the Great Recession bottomed out after President Obama's economic policies took hold have increased by approx. 4%.

Willard Romney has stated he wants to re-implement the Bush economic policies, the same policies that greased the skids for the 2nd greatest economic decline in American history. Romney wants bring his MBA education and experience to shape the American economy. We have had two other Presidents with such experience and education, Herbert Hoover and George W. Bush. How'd that work out?

LOOK WHAT HAPPENED WHEN PRESIDENT OBAMA'S STIMULUS TOOK EFFECT

The blue line is tracking jobless claims. Job loss was skyrocketing under the previous administration's policies, and has been steadily declining since President Obama's economic policies took place. The next time you hear that the President's stimulus failed, call bullshit, call it out loudly.
And then think of how much more successful the President's efforts to increase job creation could have been had we had even a little co-operation from the other side of the political divide.

States With Democrat Governors Have 15% Better Record On Employment

by greenkrete

Virginia Republican Governor Bob McDonnell claims that the improved numbers on the economy are a result of their policies. NOT SO! A quick back-of-the-envelope calculation shows states with Democratic Governors performed 15% better on the latest unemployment per capita than states with GOP Governors. The analysis took maybe 20 minutes elapsed time. Doesn’t Governor McDonnell have any staff?

You can check it yourself! The data for week ending January 28th is at the Department of Labor at this link: http://www.dol.gov/opa/media/press/eta/ui/current.htm

Plug those numbers into a spreadsheet. Next, add the list of Governors and their party affiliation. Then sort by GOP or Democrat. Now put in the state population. My results: GOP new claims -50,818 and the total population of those states 133,760,000. Democratic new unemployment claims -47,561 and the total population is 109,102,000. So per capita new claims for GOP Governor states is a reduction of 0.0380%, while per capita new claims for Democratic Governor states is a reduction of 0.0436%, a 15% better performance.

The numbers in the announcement are for 27 states with 79% of the US population. The remaining states had less than a thousand difference in new claims. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/02/05/1062036/-Breaking:-States-with-Democratic-Govs-had-15-better-unemployment-numbers-than-states-with-GOP-Govs?via=siderec

How Is President Obama Doing On Job Creation?

http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/image/number_3.2_0.jpg

President Obama inherited the greatest economic black-hole since Herbert Hoover gifted the Great Depression to President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932. And in spite of a historically obstructionist Republican Congress his bubble up economic policies have produced one of the greatest turn-arounds in history.

Axelrod on Romney: He's Not A Job Creator, He's A Corporate Raider

By Susie Madrak:

David Axelrod appeared on ABC News “This Week with George Stephanopoulos" to defend the president's record against attacks by Republican nominees at last night's debate. First, he argues that the president has done a good job on the economy:

STEPHANOPOULOS: It is good to be back. Boy, you saw right [out] of the box, Mitt Romney last night walking that tightrope on the economy, welcoming the good news, but saying President Obama doesn't deserve any credit for it. He's made things worse. That's going to be the key debate of this campaign.
AXELROD: He ought to ask 1.5 million auto workers and people who work in the auto industry who are working today because the president intervened when Mitt Romney said we should let Detroit go bankrupt.....

[Romney] has a lot of arguments, none of them are supported by facts. If you look at the history of this, the president came to office. The quarter before he got to office, the country, the economy shrunk by 9 percent. The first month he was there, the country lost 750,000 jobs. We have had 22 months of private-sector job growth now. It's been a climb up. And there are a series of -- manufacturing up for the first time in decades....

let's talk about Bain and let's talk about what it was and what he did. His partner said in The L.A. Times, our job was not to create jobs, our job was to create wealth for our partners. And here's what they did. They closed down more than 1,000 plant stores and offices. They outsourced tens of thousands of jobs, and they took 12 companies to bankruptcy. And on those bankruptcies, he and his partners made hundreds of millions of dollars. He says this is the real economy, this is the model for the country. I don't think those are the values that people want to animate our economy. He's not a job creator, he's a corporate raider.
Those aren't the values that we want to lead our economy....

Corporate Profit At 50 Year High, Personal Income At 50 Year Low

Not only are corporate profits at a 50 year high, the corporate tax load is at a 50 year low, while personal income is at a 50 year low.
-These historic levels of corporate profit have not been seen since 1929. Remember how that worked out?-

It's no mystery why the middle class is hurting and the ranks of the poor are growing. The answer is simple mathematics. Decades of reverse Robin Hood economic policy will have that result every time.

Note that the steady decline in personal income began under Richard Nixon and has continued under all following Republican presidents with the steepest declines occurring under George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon. The only respite from this economic strangle-hold on the middle class and the poor was the 8 years of the Clinton administration.

As you examine the above graphs take note:
1.) 7 of the last 8 recessions occured when a Republican was in the White House and conservative economic policies were in place (see also "History of Recessions" http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/history-of-recessions.html )
2.) Job creation plummeted under Supply Side Economics
(see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/job-growth.html )
3.) The National Debt exploded under Republican economic policies
(see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/national-debt.html )

12 Straight Months of Job Growth

"As the Wall Street Journal noted in the last month of Bush’s term, the former president had the “worst track record for job creation since the government began keeping records.” And job creation under Bush was anemic long before the recession began. Bush’s supply-side economics “fostered the weakest jobs and income growth in more than six decades,” along with “sluggish business investment and weak gross domestic product growth,” the Center for American Progress’ Joshua Picker explained. “On every major measurement” of income and employment, “the country lost ground during Bush’s two terms,” the National Journal’s Ron Brownstein observed, parsing Census data."

JOB CREATION SOARS! -Obamanomics is reversing the 2nd worst economic downturn in history-

Private sector payrolls soared 297,000 in December, payroll processor ADP announced Wednesday.

The gain marks the 11th consecutive month of increases, and was much larger than economists had expected. Economists surveyed by Briefing.com were forecasting an increase of 100,000 jobs.

The increase in hiring was led by the services sector, with employers adding 270,000 jobs in December. That's the highest jump on record, ADP said.

That's a positive sign for the economy, with the government's highly-anticipated monthly unemployment report due Friday.

Public/Private Job Creation Graph 1/2008 - 9/2010, nice work President Obama

http://www.polls.newsvine.com/_vine/images/users/nws/jhnwlk/5257756.jpg

President Obama took over at the depths of the George W. Bush Great Recession and immediately stopped the stunning increase in monthly job loss and reversed the trend. We have now witnessed 10 of the last 11 month's producing positive private sector job growth.
(October and November of 2010 also showed an increase in private sector job growth which makes 12 of the last 13 month's in positive territory)

President Obama's economic policies have created more private sector jobs in less than 2 years than George W. Bush's economic policies did in 8.

‎7 REPUBLICAN LIES FOR ELECTION DAY:

1) President Obama tripled the deficit.
Reality: Bush's last budget had a $1.416 trillion deficit. Obama's first reduced that to $1.29 trillion, repeating the pattern of President Clinton's glide path to fiscal sanity.

2) President Obama raised taxes, which hurt the economy.
Reality: Obama cut taxes for 95% of Americans the lower 95% to be exact.

3) President Obama bailed out the banks.
Reality: While many people conflate the "stimulus" with the bank bailouts, the bank bailouts were requested by President Bush and his Treasury Secretary, former Goldman Sachs CEO Henry Paulson. (Paulson also wanted the bailouts to be "non-reviewable by any court or any agency.") The bailouts passed and began before the 2008 election of President Obama.

4) The stimulus didn't work.
Reality: The stimulus worked. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the stimulus raised employment by between 1.4 million and 3.3 million jobs.

5) Businesses will hire if they get tax cuts.
Reality: A business hires the right number of employees to meet demand. Having extra cash does not cause a business to hire, but a business that has a demand for what it does will find the money to hire. Businesses want customers, tax cuts not so much.

6) Health care reform costs $1 trillion.
Reality: The health care reform reduces government deficits by $138 billion.

7) Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, and is "going broke,"
Reality: Social Security has run a surplus since it began, has a trust fund in the trillions, is completely sound for at least 25 more years and cannot legally borrow so cannot contribute to the deficit. But make no mistake, the Republicans and Tea Partiers will kill Social Security if given the chance, just ask George W. Bush. In his new book he lists not privatizing Social Security as his biggest dissapointment. If you think the Bush ers stock market crash was bad just think how devastating it would have been if our Social Security money was wrapped up in the stock market.
