Job Creation Under President Obama

459,000 manufacturing jobs have been added since January 2010

Mitt Romney wants to re-institute the George W. Bush economic policies that produced the worst job creation numbers since Herbert Hoover, & the second deepest economic downturn since the Republican gifted Great Depression.

ARE WE BETTER OFF THAN 4 YEARS AGO?

7949 DOW close on Bush's last day in office
13,557 yesterday (Biggest 3.5 year gain -EVER-)
-800,000 jobs per month Bush's last month in office

For the 12 months between March 2011 and March 2012, the economy added 2.4 million jobs, or an average of 200,000 per month. (The greatest turnaround -EVER-)

-64%, my 401K under 8 years of Bush
+426%, my 401k under 3.5 years of President Obama
(Biggest turnaround in my 401K -EVER-)

Are we better off than 4 years ago. You betcha!

President Obama's Record Of Private Sector Job Creation Is 157,143 Per Month Since 4/2010, - better than any Republican President’s 1st Term Record -

Since President Obama's economic policies ended the George W. Bush gifted Great Recession, halted staggering monthly job losses that approached 800,000, and returned the nation to positive job growth in record time he has enjoyed a private sector job creation rate that exceeds the 1st term job creation record of ANY Republican President in history.

Below is a table which shows job creation by President for ALL terms served. Reagan's record in his first term in office was 109,000 per month. Reagan inherited stellar job creation from President Carter of 216,000 and by the end of his 1st term, cut it in nearly in half. President Obama inherited the deepest drop in job loss since the Great Depression and has since April of 2010 outperformed every Republican president 1st term record on job creation.

When examining the record of job creation we must look where President Obama started out to fully understand how far he has taken us as a nation down the road to recovery.

42 Million Jobs Created Versus 24 million, Yet Another Democratic Economic Success Story

And remember in November, Willard Romney wants to re-institute the George W. Bush economic policies that produced the worst job creation numbers since Herbert Hoover, the second deepest economic downturn since the Republican gifted Great Depression and the worst accumulation of national debt since Ronald Reagan.

Romney is doubling down on the most disastrous economic policy in 70 years. That seems like a bad idea to me.

80-year study: Democrats Better at Economics

When it comes to which party is better for the economy, Republicans talk the talk, but it's Democrats who deliver the goods according to an unusual 80-year study of the impact presidents have on growth, personal wealth, the stock market and even 401ks.

The bottom line, according to Bulls, Bears and the Ballot Box: Of the five best economic presidents since Herbert Hoover, only one is a Republican. The paydirt finding: $100,000 invested during the 40 years Republicans had the White House would be worth $126,027. The same amount invested in the stock market during the Democrat's 40 years would be $3,912,210

INCOME GROWTH BY PARTY, 1948-2005

If there was ever one chart that summed up success of Democratic Bubble Up Economic policy, this is it.

The 95th percentile, or the top 5% of income earners in the country, do better under Democratic Economic Policy, as does EVERY other percentile. And Democratic Economic Principle performs vastly better as you descend the economic dogpile. Targeting tax cuts and investment to the benefit of the working people in this nation helps everyone in this nation.

Job Performance, Obama Versus Bush, -a microcosm of the last 80 years-

The above graph provides yet more documentation of the 80 year history of comparison of Democratic and Republican administrations on job growth. The red line documents private sector employment, the blue line government sector employment.

Under George W. Bush private sector employment DECREASED by 6oo,ooo jobs.
Under President Obama private sector employment INCREASED by  300,000 jobs.
Under George W. Bush government sector employment INCREASED by 1,700,000 jobs.
Under President Obama government sector employment DECREASED by 600,000 jobs.

While Republicans run on empty promises of smaller government and their imaginary ability to manage the economy their record always points in the opposite direction, big spending, pitiful job creation and massive deficit spending.

Romney is doubling down on the most disastrous economic policy in 70 years. That seems like a bad idea to me.

Following is a link to an excellent video that lays bare the dismal failure of Romney's economic record as Governor of Massachusetts.  http://www.barackobama.com/romney/economics/
-Pay special attention to the outsourcing of call center jobs to India-

Romney is just another corporate huckster trying to con the American public. See how he and Bain Capitol looted the health care and pension plans of this steel mill and laid off hundreds of American workers while they pocketed millions of dollars in bonus' and profits: http://www.buzzfeed.com/zekejmiller/obama-super-pac-steps-up-bain-capital-attack
“This was a booming place, and Mitt Romney and Bain Capital turned it into a junkyard....”

Trickle Down Has Never Worked. Not Once.

It added $9.2 trillion to the national debt.
see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/national-debt.html

It's produced less than 1/2 the job growth of Democratic Bubble Up Economic Principle. see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/job-growth.html

It's been in place for 4 of the last 4 recessions including 2 of the 3 greatest economic downturns in our nation's history.
 see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/history-of-recessions.html

It's produced the greatest income inequality in history. see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/income-inequality-99-versus-1.html

Romney is doubling down on the very economic principles that have all but killed the middle class and swelled the ranks of the poor. We should remember the record of the principles he champions.

Yet More Graphs Showing It's Not Spending, It's Revenue That Is Causing the Problems

The Bush tax give-a-ways to the rich remain today the greatest driver of today's national debt. When Republican's wax indignant about todays deficits and blame "out of control spending," call bullshit. Cause that's what you are hearing.

We are spending less per capita today than at any time since 1954, when the top tax rate was 90%. Reagonomics promised us that lower tax rates on the uber rich would produce rapid job creation and increased revenues. What they produced was a decade of no job growth, unprecedented income inequality, massive deficits, and 4 of the last 4 recessions, including 2 of the deepest economic downturns in our nation's history, the Reagan Recession of 1982 and the George W. Bush Great Recession of 2007-2009. Again proving the maxim that only two things grow when Republican economic and tax policies are in effect, unemployment and the national debt.

President Obama versus George W. Bush on Job Creation, (1st term)

This graph again documents the typical historical record of comparing Republican Economic results against Democratic economic results. Republicans overspend and under perform. As I've stated repeatedly before only two things grow when Republican economic principles are in place, namely unemployment and the national debt.  A snapshot look at this comparison shows:
1).  public sector (government) employment increased under Bush by just over 4%, and has declined under President Obama by approx. 3%.
2). Private sector employment under Bush declined by approx. 1% over 4 years. Yet in just 2.5 years since the Great Recession bottomed out after President Obama's economic policies took hold have increased by approx. 4%.

Willard Romney has stated he wants to re-implement the Bush economic policies, the same policies that greased the skids for the 2nd greatest economic decline in American history. Romney wants bring his MBA education and experience to shape the American economy. We have had two other Presidents with such experience and education, Herbert Hoover and George W. Bush. How'd that work out?

Who Are The Big Spenders? That would be the Bush's, Reagan, Nixon & Ford

Make sure you visit my page "National Debt." http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/national-debt.html
The above graph is yet another look at the fiscal insanity of Republican economic policy. It is no wonder that Democratic Administrations outperform Republican administrations on EVERY economic standard.

Only two things grow when a Republican is in the White House, unemployment and the National Debt. And those are the indisputable facts of the last 70 years.

AND WHAT IS PRESIDENT OBAMA"S ECONOMIC PLAN LEADING TO?

source: http://motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2012/03/balancing-budget-obama-way

The above graph charts the national debt to GPD ratio, the only true way to compare debt across the years and from one president to another. The closer to zero the closer to a balanced budget we get.

Take special note that the last time a budget was in surplus was under Wild Bill Clinton. President Obama, climbing out of a far deeper economic hole, is repeating the same pattern as President Clinton, the most fiscally successful president of the last 60 years.

This is yet another reminder if we want to avoid the pain of economic downturns we need to quit electing the stumblebums that cause them. And that would be Republicans.

Corporate Profit At 50 Year High, Personal Income At 50 Year Low

Not only are corporate profits at a 50 year high, the corporate tax load is at a 50 year low, while personal income is at a 50 year low.
-These historic levels of corporate profit have not been seen since 1929. Remember how that worked out?-

It's no mystery why the middle class is hurting and the ranks of the poor are growing. The answer is simple mathematics. Decades of reverse Robin Hood economic policy will have that result every time.

Note that the steady decline in personal income began under Richard Nixon and has continued under all following Republican presidents with the steepest declines occurring under George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon. The only respite from this economic strangle-hold on the middle class and the poor was the 8 years of the Clinton administration.

As you examine the above graphs take note:
1.) 7 of the last 8 recessions occured when a Republican was in the White House and conservative economic policies were in place (see also "History of Recessions" http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/history-of-recessions.html )
2.) Job creation plummeted under Supply Side Economics
(see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/job-growth.html )
3.) The National Debt exploded under Republican economic policies
(see: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/national-debt.html )
